Optimizing Camera Controls for Company of Heroes 2

One of the most crucial aspects of any strategy game is camera control. In Company of Heroes 2, the camera controls play a vital role in navigating the battlefield and making strategic decisions. However, tweaking these settings can be a challenge due to the requirement to restart the game after changing graphics settings.

To test the camera controls, I forced the autofocus (AF) to x16 and off at both low and maximum settings. By comparing captured images, it became clear that the game applies AF very effectively and closely resembles x16, likely indicating an actual value of x8.

In addition, during a recent benchmark run on Ģ560x1080 (21:9), I tested the camera controls in Pre-Alpha mode. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on whether this controller UI will be included for PC users at a later date.

Some configuration files do contain references to gamepad and gamepad UI scaling, but it appears that this is merely preparatory work for the Console Edition. Plugging in an Xbox controller does not have any effect during boot-up.

Overall, while there may be some limitations with camera control settings in Company of Heroes 2, the game's developers seem to be focused on optimizing performance and providing a seamless gaming experience.
